Street Art: Penang, Malyasia

Continuing to highlight my fascination with street art of all kinds, here are photos I took in Penang, Malaysia, which is pretty well-known for street art thanks to a government sponsored project a number of years ago. After the success of that first project, the government sponsored more art, this time a series of steel rod pieces scattered around the city. When you visit Penang, your hotel or the tourist center can provide you with maps to each of these commissioned, more famous pieces of art. There is also quite a lot of good art that isn’t part of these official maps. Below, I have separated the pictures I took into three groupings: the famous originals, the steel rod art and the rest. Enjoy.
